In fall 2003, after his company Génia Technologies was sold to Telus Business Solutions, where he spent a brief time heading up the Montreal office, Marc-André Poulin teamed up with entrepreneur Xavier Giraud, a French transplant to Quebec, Gaétan Piché, Jean Mathieu and Christian Breton, to found Victrix in Montreal.
Within the first year, Victrix had acquired ELFIQ and the Group 3-Soft’s consulting services, and also opened an office in Quebec City. Thanks to its market performance, Victrix quickly achieved the status of Microsoft Certified Partner, thus beginning a long collaboration with Microsoft. Building on this momentum, the company received its ISO 9001 (2000) for the activity Staff Placement Service in the field of information systems.
The following years were marked by a series of acquisitions (Cogeti Informatique, Noxent and Informatique Stratégique in 2007, Compu-Sys in 2008 and IPtel in 2009), as a result of which Victrix continued to grow by over 30% per year and strengthened its partnerships with leading IT vendors including Microsoft, Cisco, Juniper and Citrix.
On April 1, 2009, Pierre-Yves Martel joined Victrix as President and Chief Executive Officer, taking over from Mr. Poulin, who turned his focus toward Victrix’s acquisition activities and a number of strategic projects .
Today, Victrix is continuing to grow organically through acquisition and is eager to expand quickly across the country to make its services available to all Canadian businesses, while maintaining jobs in the region.
